Routine cleanings are an important part of comprehensive and preventative dental care. Performed by our certified dental hygienists, teeth cleanings remove plaque and tarter - two culprits of gum disease and tooth decay - around the gum line. Our dental hygienists also remove stains and polish the teeth. We recommend patients have their teeth cleaned every six months to maintain excellent dental health.

We are proud to offer digital X-rays to help our patients maintain the healthiest teeth and gums possible. Digital X-rays are capable of producing incredibly clear and accurate images with 50 to 90 percent less radiation than traditional film X-rays. The X-ray process is simple: a small sensor connected to an X-ray machine is placed in the patient’s mouth while our dental technician snaps a variety of digital “pictures,” which are then sent directly to a special computer screen that allows us – and the patient – to instantly review the X-ray images. No uncomfortable film strips to bite and no time wasted waiting for film to develop. Contact our office today to learn more about the advantages of this amazing technology.

If you are one of the thousands of people who put off necessary dental work due to fear of pain and discomfort associated with common dental procedures, nitrous oxide sedation may be the right option for you. Nitrous oxide sedation is an effective pain and anxiety management tool that allows patients to get back in the dentist's chair with confidence.
Nitrous oxide gas, commonly referred to as laughing gas, induces a depressed level of consciousness in which a patient can respond to verbal commands and breathe independently, but remains unaware of the actual dental work being performed. After Dr. Osborne completes the dental work, the patient quickly looses the affect of the gas and can drive home from the appointment.
To learn more about nitrous oxide sedation, contact Dr. Osborne in Greensboro today.

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ), or jaw joint, controls the movement necessary for biting, chewing, swallowing, speaking, and making facial expressions. TMJ Disorder refers to a diverse group of conditions in which the TMJ does not work correctly, causing everything from mild discomfort to severe pain and limited functionality.
The goal of TMJ treatment is to control discomfort and restore functionality of the joint and muscles. Dr. Osborne adheres to a progressive course of treatment for TMJ, starting with listening to the history of the pain, x-rays, a realignment of the bite and/or mouth guards, and then advancing to more aggressive treatments such as a referral to a specialist with TMJ experience for an MRI, consultation, and possible surgery or orthodontic treatment.
