I would like straighter teeth but I do not want braces. What are my options?

For most people who want straight teeth without wearing braces, we have good news. Certain cosmetic dentistry restorations, such as porcelain veneers, can give the appearance of straight, perfectly aligned teeth without actually altering the original position of the natural teeth. If you would like straighter teeth but do not have the time or patience for braces, Dr. Osborne can construct a personalized treatment plan that will give you the straight smile you desire.

How often should I have my teeth cleaned?

Regular teeth cleanings are an important element of comprehensive preventative care. Build-up, such as tartar along the gum line, is inevitable and can only be removed by a professional dental hygienist. If this build-up is ignored, it can lead to more serious complications such as gum disease. We strongly recommend that our patients receive teeth cleanings every six months.

How is TMJ disorder diagnosed?

TMJ is a difficult disorder to diagnose because it has many diverse symptoms that are also associated with other conditions. An accurate diagnosis requires a thorough examination by a dental professional experienced in the detection and diagnosis of TMJ disorder. During the examination, the dentist feels the TMJ and the muscles involved in chewing, observes the comfortable range of motion of the jaw, and listens for clicking, popping, or grinding noises during jaw movement. Taking an MRI of the joint and regular dental x-rays are also useful.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, we invite you to come in as a new patient. Dr. Osborne will do an examination for you at that time. Or, if you would prefer, please come in to see one of our hygienists first. Dr. Osborne would then do an examination at this time. Most of our new patients are referred by our existing patients or other doctors, but we welcome referrals from our website.
