What is cosmetic dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry is the combination of state-of-the art dental materials with advanced science to create beautiful smiles. Over the past decade, cosmetic dentistry has become a highly evolved dentistry discipline with the capability to restore even the most severely damaged smiles. Dr. Farless has extensive training in this specialty.
Who is a candidate for cosmetic dentistry?
Anyone who is unhappy with the appearance of his or her smile is considered an ideal candidate for cosmetic dentistry. From minor restorations to complete smile makeovers, we design customized treatment plans around the patient's individual needs and desires. We welcome unusual cases.
I would like straighter teeth but I do not want braces. What are my options?
For most people who want straight teeth without wearing braces, we have good news. Certain cosmetic dentistry restorations, such as porcelain veneers, can give the appearance of straight, perfectly aligned teeth without actually altering the original position of the natural teeth. If you would like straighter teeth but do not have the time or patience for braces, we can construct a personalized treatment plan that will give you the straight smile you desire.
How often should I have my teeth cleaned?
Regular teeth cleanings are an important element of comprehensive preventative care. Build-up, such as tartar along the gum line is inevitable and can only be removed by a professional dental hygienist. If this build-up is ignored, it can lead to more serious complications such as gum disease. We strongly recommend that our patients receive teeth cleanings every six months.
How is TMJ disorder diagnosed?
TMJ is a difficult disorder to diagnose because it has many diverse symptoms that are also associated with other conditions. An accurate diagnosis requires a thorough examination by a dental professional experienced in the detection and diagnosis of TMJ disorder. During the examination, the dentist feels the TMJ and the muscles involved in chewing, observes the comfortable range of motion of the jaw, and listens for clicking, popping, or grinding noises during jaw movement. Taking an MRI of the joint and regular dental x-rays are also useful.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we invite you to come in as a new patient. We will do an examination for you at that time. Or, if you would prefer, come in to see one of our hygienists first. We will do an examination while you are here. Most of our new patients are referred by our existing patients or other doctors, but we welcome referrals from our website, as well.
I am afraid of dentists. Will your dentistry hurt me?
Did you know that Dr. Farless is well known in our community for having an extremely gentle and pain-free touch? All of our staff, their families, and their friends are patients of Dr. Farless. They won't hurt you. They are caring professionals who listen to you and who will be sensitive to your fears.
Will you take insurance?
We file insurance claims as a courtesy to our patients. We accept payment from most of these plans and you are responsible for any remaining balance not paid by your insurance company. For questions regarding your specific plan, please call our office. Our business staff has years of experience in answering insurance questions.
What are my financing options for major treatment?
We accept checks, cash, major credit cards and insurance payments. In addition, we have several payment options available that we would be happy to discuss with you before major treatment. We work with two different financing companies, one with no interest, upon approved credit. We also offer automatic debiting from a checking or charge card account, depending upon your balance.
Dr. Farless is so nice and he's very gentle. He stopped several times just to ask me if I was okay. I used to hate to go to the dentist. Now, it's not so bad.
